2023 Hyundai Kona Rendered Based On The Spy Photos

[ad_1]

We don’t know the roadmap for Hyundai’s new model in detail, but we do know the South Korean automaker is already developing the next-generation Kona. We expect a full redesign of the crossover – combined with larger exterior and interior dimensions – with a full and official debut likely to come before the end of the year. This means we’ll have to wait at least a few more months to see it in all its glory, although the new rendering provides a good early preview of the design changes.

Our friends and colleagues at motor.es so kind to share these next-generation Kona exclusive digital images. This rendering is based on the latest model’s spy photo, which basically confirms it will grow a bit in its dimensions. This transformation has been reflected in these renderings and overall, we can say that the new Kona looks a bit more mature than the previous model.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Hyundai is now also selling the Bayon in Europe, where it’s the brand’s most affordable crossover. To further differentiate the two, Hyundai is expected to give the Kona a more luxurious overall look and a more luxurious cabin. Don’t expect premium segment features, but the Kona 2023 will probably offer a lot of goodies that aren’t on the list with the current model.

In the engine department, there will be no major revisions. We expect the Kona to continue to be offered with combustion engines, including a 1.6 liter turbocharged gas unit. The future of Kona N, the most powerful member of the Kona family, is yet to be confirmed, though we guess it will live to see another generation. As for the Kona Electric, it is planned for a full redesign as well, perhaps bringing in a more efficient electric powertrain with greater range between costs.

There has been no official word from Hyundai regarding the debut date of the new Kona. However, the automaker is still testing prototypes with thick camouflage, which may suggest a big premiere won’t happen before the third quarter of this year. It’s unclear if the new Kona will be available in the United States.
