For every supercar you can buy, it looks like there are three more in development from a startup with extreme horsepower aspirations. More often than not, such vehicles are based solely on ideas and computer-generated renderings, but the Deus Vayanne does exist in real life. Moreover, this newcomer has the backing of several well-known brands, so just maybe, it will go against the odds where many others have failed.
The Vayanne is the new all-electric hypercar from Austria-based Deus Automobiles, and make no mistake – it is very new company. It was founded in 2020 with the aim of building niche electric hypercars, and to that end, the automaker says only 99 units are planned for production. It definitely qualifies as a niche, and at over 2,200 horsepower (1,641 kilowatts), it really qualifies for hypercar territory. Plus, the overall shape – which Deus describes as “a design language of infinity and symmetry” is certainly exotic.

The cover came off the car at the 2022 New York Auto Show, so it’s not just a fantastic rendering. We see a vehicle complete with a sweet interior that adopts an organic taste similar to its exterior. The infinity symbol is a design theme throughout the Vayanne, clearly visible in the form of the front air intake and taillight designs, but also somewhat hidden in the form of the dashboard. This two-seater features a digital instrument cluster, a simple center touchscreen, and a set of switches we know nothing about at all. But it looked cool, so we agreed.
Being an electric hypercar with 2,200 hp, you might want to know more about the powertrain. Unfortunately, this is where reality starts to waver a bit as Deus doesn’t have the details yet. In this case, the power output is predictable to over 2,200 hp, and thus, a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in 1.99 seconds and a claimed top speed of 400 km/h (248 mph) is also predicted. Oh, dear.
We’ve heard claims like that from startups time and time again, but the good news here is that Deus isn’t alone. Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering are involved as partners, and the entities are clearly not start-ups. For those wondering, yes, Williams is connected to that Williams is in Formula 1, and the company has little experience in motorsport including electric performance. So while we don’t have any specifics regarding the source of that 2,220 hp, there is real hope that it will be coming soon.
If all goes to plan, Deus will start shipping its 99 Vayannes in 2025.
