Honda has flaunted the exterior styling of the 2023 HR-V, but we’re still waiting to see the interior. We will wait a little longer because Honda is not ready to reveal it yet. However, the automaker is willing to show off the crossover’s cargo area while teasing other interiors, including the center console and part of the dashboard.
The 2023 HR-V shares its platform with the Honda Civic, and this compact crossover will also borrow from the 11th-generation Civic’s “Simplicity and Something” interior design ethos. Honda doesn’t reveal much about the interior. Instead, it flaunts a pass-through center console that looks clad in leather.

Images of the cargo area with the rear seats folded flat reveal a bit of the dash at the front, which looks a lot like the one on the new Civic. Part of the infotainment screen mounted on the dashboard is visible. Beneath that is the same honeycomb web found in cars that incorporate ventilation, which sits above the physical HVAC controls.
So far, Honda has showcased the HR-V’s new styling, which is quite a departure from the previous design. The rear features steeper rakes, and a more aggressive front-end styling, with a sculpted face, gaping grille, and sleek headlights. The new platform also means the HR-V grows in size over the previous model – wider and a longer wheelbase.
Honda hasn’t detailed the crossover’s new powertrain yet, but it looks like a 1.8-liter is out, possibly backing the Civic’s new powertrain duo. This car comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder or 1.5-liter turbo inline-four. Both are more powerful than 1.8 liters; however, we’ll have to wait for Honda to confirm these specs.
Honda has yet to announce a sales date for the HR-V 2023. The company still needs to fully reveal the interior and detail the updated powertrain options before it reaches dealerships. The new HR-V should go on sale before the end of the year, so Honda should provide full disclosure in the near future.
