Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan Spied On The Nurburgring

[ad_1]

The next-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan hits the Nürburgring for some on-track development in this spy shot gallery. The company covered it up to hide the shape of the upcoming model

Up front, there’s a wide grille, and you can see where the Mercedes star is under the cover in the middle. There is also an inlet in the lower fascia. The headlights have an LED strip at the top. There are also curved LEDs along the bottom which make the headlights look rounded.

There are beveled accents on each door that add appeal to the sides of the vehicle. The door handles are flush with the body as in the latest S-Class.

In profile, the nose looks very long, giving the E-Class sedan a streamlined appearance. There is a short rear deck. It rides on multi-spoke wheels with a dark finish.

At the rear, there is no visible exhaust pipe. The development team covered most of the headlights with masking tape.

We expect interior technology to be similar to that of the S-Class. That means a large, high-resolution display for instruments and infotainment. Advanced driver assistance features may also be part of the package.

There are no specific powertrain details yet. The spy shot shows a plug-in hybrid. Mild hybrid diesel and gas turbocharged engines are also possible. The AMG variant adopts an electrically assisted four-cylinder turbo.

Look out for the new E-Class that will debut in late 2023 or maybe even 2024. The refresh to the model from the 2021 model year means Mercedes is in no rush to launch the next-gen version to the market. It also means we should see more spy shots of the vehicle’s development before the official launch.

Assuming the timing is right, the new E-Class will hit the market at about the same time as the next-generation BMW 5 Series. Customers get a choice between the latest iteration of this longtime German competitor. To add another option in this segment, the Porsche Panamera is rumored to have a new generation coming in 2024.
