The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette is expected to go into production on May 16 Corvette Action Center citing internal communications to dealers. Chevy hasn’t given a specific date for starting assembly of the Z06 but suggests that it will start later in the summer. The company intends to start taking orders in late spring. Chevy began taking orders for the model year 2023 Corvette on April 7, according to this report. The 70th Anniversary Edition is available from launch. The ZZ3 Engine Display and Lighting Package is not currently available on the model.

The 70th Anniversary Edition has red sections for the brake calipers, engine covers and trim on the wheels. The body is available in Carbon Flash Metallic or White Pearl Metallic Tri-Coat. The cabin has red detailing on the seat belts and stitching. The upholstery is made of two-tone leather with a special Ceramic color and suede inserts.
Dealer communications also highlight production constraints for the 2022 Corvette. The lack of a microchip limits the availability of the FE2 and FE4 suspension systems. Rear parking assist technology hasn’t been available since January 24, but finally returned on April 11.
In January 2022, there were reports of Chevy starting production of the 2023 Corvette on May 9. Even then, it was unclear when the company planned to start building the Z06.
Chevy had to stop production of the Corvette several times during the 2022 model year. Most recently, the company did not build the model during the week of March 21 due to parts constraints. The automaker claims this is not related to a microchip deficiency.
Another problem occurred in December 2021 when a tornado hit the Bowling Green factory. It caused a fire, damaged part of the roof, and destroyed the employee’s entrance.
Production issues have been an ongoing problem for the Corvette C8. For example, the automaker stopped taking orders for its 2021 model earlier than planned due to a shortage of parts.
