Rimac has announced that the final round of testing for the Nevera has been completed ahead of its upcoming customer shipments. According to the Croatian company, the all-electric hypercar underwent two weeks of extensive winter testing at the Sottozero Pirelli Center near the Arctic Circle in Sweden.

Rimac, now the majority shareholder of Bugatti-Rimac, said the tests were meant to fine-tune systems such as ABS, ESP and torque vectoring. The team had to test Nevera at night for extreme temperatures because daytime temperatures were unusually warm.

The 1,914-horsepower Rimac Nevera has been homologated for customer shipments in the US and EU. However, to validate the results in the climax room and ensure each control system worked flawlessly in all conditions, Rimac had to go to Sweden for extreme winter testing. The temperature during the test is said to be around -15°C (5°F).

Apart from the aforementioned control system, Rimac also tested the recommended winter tire for the Nevera – the Pirelli P Zero Winter. The tire is a joint development between Pirelli and Rimac. Nevera’s summer tire is the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.

“Tests on low-grip surfaces like this allow us to make consistent and accurate observations of how our system performs in low temperatures. Things happened a lot slower than they did on asphalt, and we had a nice, level and smooth handling track. we know the data we get is unaffected by surface imperfections or temperature changes. After these two weeks of testing, we are pleased to see the results we wanted to achieve,” said Miroslav Zrnčević, Head of Testing and Development for Bugatti-Rimac Driver.

The Rimac Nevera is limited to 150 units, each selling for €2 million or about $2.2 million at current exchange rates. Wealthy owners will receive their all-electric hypercar in the next few months.
