2023 Hyundai Palisade Teaser Shows Lights And Grille, Debuts April 13

[ad_1]

We’ve caught a few of the Hyundai Palisade 2023 test vehicles in recent months, sporting heavy camouflage to hide the impending facelift. We still don’t have a full reveal about the changes, but a new teaser image from Hyundai takes a big step in that direction. The final move came on April 13, when the facelifted Palisade was scheduled to debut.

As expected, the automaker’s current design language will grace the front of its flagship SUV. The thick grille doesn’t share the angles or triangular inserts seen on the Tucson, but the theme is similar to the thin wings above. On the Tucson, these corners are actually lights that blend into the grille, but maybe not here. The spy shot shows a cut in the heavy camo that suggests the lights are there, but we’ve never seen them turn on.

We have visible vertically oriented running lights, which arguably share the main stage in this teaser with the grille. We’ve also seen the main headlights located in the corner house, although you can’t see them in the teaser. Even with the image level pumped up in Photoshop, we are treated to a sea of black next to an L-shaped walking light.

The second teaser offers a profile view of the front clip. It shows a very wide square face reflecting a square grid. This will give the updated Palisade a very different face compared to the Tucson, while at the same time displaying some similarities in the overall design. The elegant spoke wheels are shown for the first time, looking very different from the pseudo-five-spoke aluminum rims on the current highest Calligraphy trim levels. In its teaser press release, Hyundai specifically refers to these new alloy wheels as offering a “premium appearance”, suggesting that the photos could depict the top trim level.

What other changes can we expect in the updated Palisade? Spy photos have shown a prototype with bold camouflage on the sides, though we suspect the changes there are minimal. A heavier camo covers the rear, which could incorporate a Tucson version of the split taillights connected by a horizontal strip across the hatch. As for the interior and powertrain, we expect only minimal changes, if any.

Everything will be revealed on April 13th. You can watch the Hyundai Palisade 2023 reveal live, here at Motor1.com.
