Rumors are circulating again about the Toyota Supra getting a high-performance GRMN variant. Japan Spyder7 claims the sporty model uses the BMW S58 engine variant of the M3 and M4 which allegedly produces 533 horsepower (397 kilowatts).
The more powerful Supra is expected to be available exclusively with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, according to Spyder7rumors. The GRMN will be rear-wheel drive in standard form, but all-wheel drive may be an option.

The GRMN Supra will reportedly get a hood with a spoon to send cool air into the engine. There will also be a more aggressive front fascia. The roof and rear wing are thought to be made of carbon fiber.
The more violent Supra may arrive as early as 2023, according to these rumors. At least in Japan, prices will start at around 10 million yen ($80,812 at current exchange rates).
It should be noted that Spyder7 not citing the specific source where this info came from. The translation of the story simply says that the details are “based on the most recent information obtained.” We have to take things with a grain of salt for now.
Rumors about GRMN have been circulating for years. Most of them suggested the hotter model would use the BMW S58 powerplant. Although, older reports say the factory will have 503 hp (375 kW) as in the M3 and M4 Competition variants.
Another report on the Supra’s future suggests that a variant with a six-speed manual will come for six cylinders as well. The three-pedal layout might even be available as soon as the 2023 model. The evidence comes from screenshots that seem likely to come from internal communications showing the changes for the new model year. However, anyone can create an image like this, so we cannot put all our confidence into its accuracy.
The screenshot shows Toyota’s official announcement of the six-speed Supra coming on April 28. Production will begin in Austria in July, and the vehicles will start arriving in showrooms in October.
At least in Japan, it is alleged that there will be a special Supra with a six-speed manual. The Matte White Edition will have an exclusive exterior color and brown leather for the interior upholstery.
