GM Adds Third Shift At Canada Plant For Chevy Silverado Production

General Motors will invest more than $2 billion into the Ingersoll and Oshawa plants in Canada through the fourth quarter of 2022. Among other things, the money will be used to build the Silverado 1500 at the Oshawa plant during the newly added third shift of production at the plant. location. The location has assembled the Silverado HD, making it the only GM site to make light and heavy duty truck variants.

The Oshawa factory is closed from late 2019 to November 2021, according to Automotive News. It was reopened to build a heavy duty Silverado. With this investment to create a third shift, the plant will have 2,600 new jobs on site.
