Earlier today, we reported that China had taken the decision to postpone this year’s Beijing Auto Show amid the rising cases of the coronavirus in the country. There was no announcement regarding a potential new date for the event, which was supposed to start on April 21. On the same day the event was postponed, organizers of another major international event confirmed officially that the event would return next year.

After a vacuum for three years, the Geneva International Motor Show will be held again in February next year. The event organizers made the official announcement on Facebook, confirming the dates for the 2023 edition of the event – February 14 to February 19, 2023. For now, there is no announcement regarding an official press day, although we suspect there will be one. or two days for media representatives before the event opens to the public.

The Geneva Motor Show has been suspended since 2020 when it was canceled due to the COVID outbreak. About two years ago, the announcement came just days before the show was supposed to start, forcing the automaker to host the online debut of its already confirmed premiere. The following year, the 2021 edition of GIMS was also canceled, sparking rumors about the event’s future. Then again, the 2022 show was announced only to be postponed until 2023.

Little is known about next year’s Geneva Motor Show but organizers have promised that they are working to develop the show’s platform into something more exciting. A “more impactful show” is planned for 2023, although we don’t know if this means a change in the known format of the show. The Geneva Motor Show has been reputed to be one of the most populous auto shows in terms of the number of automakers participating per exhibition area.
