Tesla has finally opened the Berlin Gigafactory. It is the automaker’s first European production hub, backed by the largest investment in a German car factory in recent history: €5 billion or about $5.5 billion.
To celebrate that momentous occasion, Tesla wants us to tour the newest factory through a video uploaded on its YouTube channel. But instead of giving us a snoring presentation, the California-based company provided us with amazing fly-through videos that could rival the best Hollywood movies ever.
We embed the video at the top of this page for your viewing pleasure.

The three-minute video doesn’t just give you a tour of the massive production facility; it also shows a close look at how the Tesla Model Y was built. The drones used in the video enter and exit the machines as they work to assemble the electric crossover. It’s real, which can make you wonder how this video was made.
The opening of the Tesla Gigafactory Berlin was delayed by eight months due to environmental and bureaucratic problems. It received the green light to open a factory on March 4, 2022. According to ReutersGerman Chancellor Olaf Scholz and other top federal and local dignitaries were present during the opening ceremony.
Tesla wants to recruit 12,000 people at its Grunheide vehicle battery and assembly complex, making it the largest company in Brandenburg. It will make 500,000 electric vehicles per year and generate 50 GWh of battery power when it reaches full capacity, outperforming all other similar plants in the country.
JP Morgan estimates that the Tesla Gigafactory Berlin will build about 54,000 cars by 2022, increasing to 280,000 by 2023, and then to 500,000 by 2025.
