Cadillac Society Take
As with many other models from Cadillac and across the larger auto industry, sales of the Cadillac XT5 saw a drastic decline in the fourth quarter of 2021 due to idle production throughout calendar year 2021. In the case of the XT5, production resumed in full at Cadillac’s Spring Hill plant on 6. Decemberth, 2021 after dropping for several months as luxury automakers grapple with an ongoing global shortage of microchips. This had a negative impact on XT5 inventory at the dealer level, thus negatively impacting sales.
Production of the XT5 is currently at full capacity, and we expect sales to reflect the increased supply of the luxury crossover as more units land at dealerships. It should be noted that the XT5 will carry out a major update for the 2023 model year, which in turn will help the vehicle become more attractive in a competitive segment.
