Honda and Acura simultaneously announced the expansion of their Certified Pre-Owned program. For the year, the Japanese brand is now offering certified used vehicles for up to 10 years.
For the record, Acura is the first luxury car manufacturer to offer this, while Honda is looking to cement its position as America’s second best-selling Certified Pre-Owned vehicle brand by 2021.
Used HondaTrue includes Honda vehicles up to 10 years of age with no mileage restrictions. Available at Honda dealerships, all Certified Pre-Owned vehicles receive thorough background and quality checks that meet any maintenance need. A downloadable checklist is also available, detailing a comprehensive 112-point inspection carried out by a certified Honda technician.
Likewise, Acura Precision Used offers the same warranty for its premium vehicles up to 10 years of age, with no mileage limitations. This is an improvement over the previous Acura Precision Certified, which only covers vehicles up to 6 years old or 80,000 miles per hour.
HondaTrue Used coverage includes a 100-day/5,000-mile limited warranty (powertrain and non-powertrain coverage), free oil change, up to 12 months or 12,000 miles of roadside emergency assistance, travel disruption reimbursement, and concierge service, plus a free SiriusXM trial for three months and a 3 day/300 mile exchange policy.
Acura Precision Used offers the same service but with a longer limited warranty of up to 6 months or 7,500 miles.
The used car market has seen increased demand over the past few years, prompting automakers to expand their offerings. The supply of used cars has been running low lately due to the increasing demand for quality used vehicles.
Even GM has started offering a used car shopping service called CarBravo in January, selling an extensive inventory including non-GM vehicles.
