A year of spy shots of the Audi Q6 E-Tron reveal a bit of the all-electric crossover design. It’s been wearing a full camouflage wrap for months, but a new batch of spy photos captures the new model without the camouflage covering the front fascia, giving us our first look at the design.
Audi wears a closed silver grille with the front camera under the black Audi badge. The opening in the angular bottom bumper houses sensors for the car’s various driver assistance systems. False vents flank the grille, sitting below a split-headlight design that places daytime running lights above the headlights located lower in front. Unfortunately, that’s all the new photos reveal, with a black sheet hiding the rest.

The spy photos don’t reveal much of the rear, though it appears the crossover will adopt lighting markings similar to those on the E-Tron GT. That means the Q6 E-Tron will sport full-width taillights. Camouflage hides the rest, and there’s nothing particularly interesting going on there. Different variants can receive unique accents and embellishments to stand out in the lineup.
Audi hasn’t revealed any details about the crossover’s powertrain. All we have are rumours, and even they don’t give the complete picture. Audi is expected to offer an RS variant that can produce up to 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts), which will come from a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. However, Audi will offer the new EV with various battery packs in single and dual motor configurations.
The Q6 E-Tron will use the Premium Platform Electric architecture that Audi co-developed with Porsche. The PPE will also support the upcoming all-electric Porsche Macan. While the two crossovers will likely share many mechanical components, they will both sport different styles.
The new Q6 E-Tron will debut this year before going on sale sometime in 2023. The new crossover will top the Q4 E-Tron that Audi launched last April as the company continues to introduce new all-electric vehicles. The company wants to offer 20 EVs by 2025, and the Q6 E-Tron is another step towards that goal.
