Honda aims to achieve that, by the end of the decade, 40% of its global sales correspond to electric models. In this sense, the Japanese firm has begun to electrify its offer in the main world markets: China, the United States, Japan… and of course europethat will prohibit the sale of thermal cars from 2035.

Until now, the only zero emission model in its European range was the charming honda-e, a small urban with a neo-retro aesthetic that rivals the MINI Cooper SE. Four years after its launch, the company has taken a step forward by presenting the new e:Ny1, a compact SUV that is presented as the electric version of the popular HR-V.

with a length of 4.39 meters, the Honda e: Ny1 will compete with proposals such as the KIA e-Niro or the future Skoda Elroq, which will be released next year. Regarding the HR-V, it is distinguished by having a blind grill that will allow it to improve its aerodynamic coefficient, something essential to reduce consumption. The bumpers integrate the cover of the charging socket, on which the logo of the brand is located.

The evolution is more notable in the cabin, where the instrumentation is replaced by a screen without a viewfinder. A large touch screen (15.1 inches) in vertical format acts as the nerve center of the vehicle, including even the controls for the climate control system. This gives the dashboard a cleaner, more minimalist design. At 346 liters, its boot has 11 liters more capacity than the HR-V e:HEV.

The Honda e:Ny1 sits in the e:N architecture, a state-of-the-art electric platform closely linked to the HR-V’s multi-energy platform. It is a front-wheel drive vehicle equipped with a 204 hp (150 kW) and 310 Nm engine, figures similar to those offered by other electric SUVs of its size.

Its 68.8 kWh capacity battery gives it a maximum autonomy of 412km WLTP. As for the charge, it reaches a maximum of 11 kW in alternating current and 78 kW in direct current (10-80% in 45 minutes), a section in which it is somewhat off the hook compared to other latest-generation electric cars. .

Its commercial launch is scheduled for early next year, so his rank structure and fees have not yet been revealed.
