The Spanish Ingeteam expands to the United States with a factory of chargers for electric cars

The Navarra company Ingeteam has confirmed an important step forward in the internationalization of its electric car charger division with the expansion of its plant in Milwaukee, United States, where it will begin to manufacture electric car chargers.

In this way, the company from Zamudio (Bizkaia) wants to anticipate the strong growth trend that is expected for the North American market after the announcement of the Biden administration, which will carry out a significant deployment of electric vehicle chargers on its highways.

Thus, the Spanish company is committed to an expansion of 13,000 m2 to meet the strong demand that this type of product will have in the coming years, which has meant a national network of 500,000 charging points.

With this expansion, the new Ingeteam electric vehicle charger production lines in the American market will have a production capacity of more than 13,000 units per year. These are chargers 7.5kW up to 420kW, which will meet the high standards and quality requirements set by Buy America of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Manufacturing is expected to begin in the second half of 2023.

It should be noted that among the different types of chargers that Ingeteam will manufacture is the ultra-fast charger FAST 180 kWwhich was awarded the world-renowned Red Dot Design Award, given by the German organization Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen.
