Before we even get past the first sentence, know that we’re in no way recommending anyone jump over their Ford Bronco, or anything that isn’t designed to leave the ground. Therein lies the gray area, as we must have seen off-road vehicles in the air on several occasions. Heck, Ford even released official photos of the new Bronco Raptor with all four wheels off the ground. But this video doesn’t feature the Raptor, and that certain not official.
In fact, the video is from the YouTube channel Story Until Now and features a 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands. It’s definitely a beefy off-roader, but it doesn’t have the Bronco Raptor upgrade. However, it does have something to do with elevating this leap effort a notch or two above typical YouTube stupidity. And we’re not just talking about proper ground ramps.
This jump was orchestrated by freestyle motocross superstar Bruce Cook. If the name sounds familiar, you might remember him crashing very hard tried a double front flip on a dirt bike a few years ago at the Nitro Circus event. The collision broke his back, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down but he actually bounced back and eventually became the first paraplegic to land a motorcycle backflip. So yes, Cook knows a thing or two about jumping – and surviving.
As such, this 12-minute video offers plenty of hints for the big event. Checked ramps. Weather evaluated. Cook does the handbrake on a dead Volkswagen Golf because that’s what you do on a Golf. In the end, conditions were great for jumping but Cook didn’t just keep an eye on the action. Using universal hand controls designed specifically for the gas and brake pedals, he rides the Bronco himself.

And frankly, he makes it look so easy. There’s no drama in the run-up, and the pace is impeccable. From start to finish, this SUV covered over 43 feet in the air, landing very gently on the front wheels first, followed immediately behind. Considering the ramp is over 10 feet in the air, it’s actually a lot more impressive than it looks. In a world of misunderstood car stunts that are recklessly executed for video clicks, this one is the keeper.
However, we strongly advise you not to try it at home. That is, unless you are a professional who studied very hard the consequences of a wrong jump.
