Here’s How To Care For The Cadillac Blackwing Maverick Noir Frost Paint

Maverick Noir Frost is a unique matte black hue available in a very limited capacity on the Cadillac Blackwing super sedan. The limited edition paint job is available exclusively on the 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Sebring IMSA Edition, while the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing can be outfitted in that color for $8,120. Because Maverick Noir Frost is a matte color, it requires special care to keep it pristine, and Cadillac Society now outlines the luxury marque’s suggestion for doing so.

In the owner’s manuals for both Cadillac Blackwing super sedans, the luxury marque has included two ‘Caution’ boxes that describe procedures for keeping the Maverick Noir Frost (paint code GNW) looking sharp. Cadillac warns against taking vehicles through automated car washes, as brushes and scrubbers can easily damage the matte finish, and suggests opting for touchless car washes as an alternative. Vehicle owners should also avoid waxes or polishes, as applying them can also damage the Maverick Noir Frost’s matte finish.

Maintaining a vehicle’s matte finish also requires special care when cleaning and drying the vehicle by hand. Owners should never scrub the paint surface, and should only wipe lightly, as scrubbing can create light spots that result in a splotchy appearance. Additionally, liquid car wash soap and water, along with a mild non-abrasive bug/tar remover are the only exterior cleaning chemicals that are safe for use on glossy or matte vehicle finishes.

For the Blackwing CT5-V, Maverick Noir Frost will be available from Spring 2023. As previously mentioned, this color will be very limited. Accordingly, only 99 CT4-V Blackwing Sebring IMSA Edition super sedans will be produced, meaning Maverick Noir Frost is sure to be a rare sight in both Cadillac Blackwing sedans.
