Diving into one and zero, Turn 10 Studios Creative Director Chris Esaki said Forza Motorsport “is the most technically advanced racing game ever made.” Everything, including gameplay, uses 4k resolution at 60 frames per second with ray tracing. For the first time in Forza Motorsport history, dynamic day timing will turn day into night during the race. Advanced models for weather handle everything from rain to organic cloud development. And when you race, the rubber builds up in the track area. All of these factors affect the state of the track, and if you crash, the individual damage models will give you unique battle scars.
Turn 10 Studios also says it’s Forza Motorsport’s best-sounding title ever. It supports Dolby Atmos, and while the emphasis is definitely on engine sound, the environment also makes a difference with echo and echo. Modified engines have a different sound than stock. And depending on your location, the song announcer will have regional sound.
In total, Turn 10 Studios says Forza Motorsport features more technical advancements than Forza 5, 6, and 7 combined. It’s poised to be a strong contender for the newest Gran Turismo title on PlayStation, but the official release date remains elusive. Last year’s teaser offered up the Spring 2023 time frame, which is just months away. However, the latest announcement was changed to 2023 in general.
