Tesla Model Y Gets Carbon Aero Upgrade, 22-Inch Wheels From Novitec

After providing visual enhancements to the Tesla Model S, Model 3, and Model X, Novitec has now finally introduced a tuning kit for the Model Y. The electric crossover benefits from aerodynamic touches, new wheels, and suspension upgrades, which give it a more aggressive look. .

Like Tesla’s other electric models, the Model Y received additional bare carbon fiber components, including a front lip spoiler, which reduces front axle lift at high speeds. New spoilers for the liftgate and rear bumper diffuser create a sleeker rear look, connecting visually with new side skirts. One of the highlights of the Novitec aero package is the set of 22-inch forged wheels with 255/30 front and 285/30 rear tires. The tuning firm says that the new wheelset not only gives the Model Y a more aggressive look, but also improves the crossover’s handling.

In the suspension department, Novitec adapted the vehicle with height-adjustable aluminum suspension, which is available for the dual-motor version. It makes the zero emission vehicle more agile and reduces it by 40 millimeters, which also has a positive effect on the aerodynamics of the car. Novitec says that long-distance electricity consumption can be reduced by up to seven percent with the new suspension.

Back in 2019, Novitec rolled out a similar tuning package for the Model 3. That EV also got new wheels, carbon fiber exterior upgrades and a suspension mod. The visual tweaks on the electric sedan are a bit more subtle compared to the Model Y.

Novitec also says it offers different customization options for the interior of the battery-powered crossover. There’s a wide range of colors and materials with the demo vehicle featuring stylish carbon fiber inserts for the dashboard and door panels, as well as Alcantara leather for the ceiling and the rest of the cabin.
