Cadillac Society has been keeping tabs on developments for the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4. In June 2022, we saw a subcompact luxury crossover prototype for the first time. Then in September, we took a look at a more minimal prototype, giving us an overview of the changes in store. Now, images of the crossover design have leaked ahead of its launch in China.
China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology website is responsible for the image leak. The photos show off the vehicle’s exterior, highlighting changes to its design, such as a new two-level front lighting configuration. The existing running lights continue to frame both sides of the front fascia, but are now joined by a set of horizontal daytime running lights. Meanwhile, the main headlamp cluster is positioned just inside the vertical lighting signature.
Beyond the lighting elements, the upcoming 2024 Cadillac XT4 also features a more aggressive front grille, featuring a larger grille opening and elongated bonnet and bumper.
The rear also features some minor changes, including the relocation of the reflector from the rear bumper to the outer edge of the rear fascia. In traveling to a new location, this reflector also takes on a new shape, from a horizontal to a vertical pre-refresh on the updated model. The reverse light is also new, moving from being hemmed in by the rear reflector to a centralized location on the rear bumper. Finally, the exhaust outlet has a new shape.
Thanks to earlier spy shots, we know that the refreshed XT4 will also feature changes to its interior, adding a large curved screen similar to the curved display inside the fifth-generation Escalade along with the Lyriq.
As for what’s under the hood, the updated 2024 Cadillac XT4 will continue to feature the same mechanical bits as its predecessor. It will retain its single engine option – the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY). In the previously refreshed 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 XT4 model years, the boosted petrol four-cylinder produces 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
The Chinese variant, however, will utilize a mild hybrid system, mating the engine to a 48V battery. The 2024 XT4 will be available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, sending power through Cadillac’s nine-speed automatic transmission.
The updated 2024 Cadillac XT4 is expected to debut in China and North America in the next few months.
