A few days ago, the Cadillac Society reported that Dark Emerald Frost – a stunning matte green color offered exclusively for the ultra-high-performance Cadillac Blackwing, CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing – has been discontinued for the 2022 model year. Now, we’ve learned how rare Dark Emerald Frost is – so rare, it wasn’t even offered as an option for the Cadillac Blackwing Collector’s Edition sedan.

“Dark Emerald Frost is a late available color and therefore not available initially [Cadillac Blackwing] reservation order,” said Cadillac spokesman Stefan Cross Cadillac Society.

Simply put, the cool matte green color is an exclusive color that the first 250 units of the Cadillac Blackwing sedan did not offer. As such, it’s only available for a very limited time on subsequent units. Nonetheless, if you see the CT4-V Blackwing or CT5-V Blackwing in Dark Emerald Frost on the road, it’s a clear indication that it’s not a Collector’s Edition vehicle. Colored vehicles are extremely rare, although it’s currently unclear how many Cadillac Blackwing sedans have been painted in that color.

The first 250 Cadillac Blackwing super sedans to roll off the assembly line are considered Collector’s Edition vehicles. These models have a number of exclusive features that set them apart from subsequent units, including beamed plaques at various locations throughout the vehicle, and the inclusion of special gifts upon purchase.
