The upcoming Cadillac Escalade-V sits at the intersection of luxury and ultra-high performance, combining a luxury vehicle with a supercharged powerhouse under the hood. Back in January, the luxury marque released a short teaser video before finally confirming plans to bring the Escalade-V to market, giving us our first look at the high-performance SUV without giving too much away, but that’s about to change.
The Cadillac Escalade-V will finally debut on May 11th, 2022. On that date, Cadillac will “reveal the specifications, details, and availability of the Cadillac Escalade-V 2023,” according to a press release. The debut will take place on the luxury brand’s website.

“The Cadillac V-Series is the ultimate expression of Cadillac design, performance and technology and the purest expression of the passion that lies at the heart of the Cadillac brand,” the release said. “The V-Series has always represented a powerful blend of refinement and strength, offering a unique, bold, performance-inspired style with a dazzling presence. The Escalade-V 2023 is the first SUV to wear the V-Series badge and joins the ranks of the fourth-generation V-Series.”

Currently, the Cadillac V-Series family includes the CT4-V and CT5-V high-performance sedans, along with the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing. We expect this ultra high-performance luxury SUV to sport the same supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4) as the Blackwing CT5-V. Under the hood of the Blackwing model, a supercharged eight cylinder produces 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. Possible output of the Escalade-V will be different from the super sedan.

Cadillac Society has been keeping an eye on the ultra-high-performance SUV since we reported it in 2019. We first heard the roar of the Escalade-V in January, when we caught several videos of the prototype vehicle undergoing road testing. Since then, we’ve spied on other prototypes undergoing road tests in Michigan, including an extended ESV variant. Recently, we were able to get up close and personal with the Escalade-V and hear how menacing the exhaust sounds at startup, which you can check out below.
As soon as Cadillac provides details on the Escalade-V, we’ll give you the number. Meanwhile, subscribe Cadillac Society for the latest Cadillac Escalade news and round-the-clock Cadillac news coverage. We also invite you to join the latest discussions on our Cadillac forums.
