The Chevy Corvette E-Ray Is Definitely Ready for Winter

Posted on

We’ve seen quite a bit of the upcoming Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray in the past month, including the looks a completely undisguised prototype last week. While we don’t have a reveal date for the actual car yet, and with specific information about its hybrid components, we do know that the version we saw in a recent configurator leak should sport the E-Ray name and a wide body. familiar to anyone who has seen the C8 Z06. We don’t yet know exactly where the electric power is being sent, but a recent leaked video gives hope that, as we heard way back in 2020, the power might go to the front wheels.

The video uploaded by Corvette Nut on YouTube with the flashy title “°•“°☆°•~♤°|♧°•`~°■•,” looks remarkably similar to the official GM clip leaks. It features the caption “professional driver, track closed” in fine print at the bottom and ends with the Corvette logo, but Corvette Bloggers notes that this is actually a variant of the older C7 generation logo. Whether the clip is official or not, what matters is what’s shown: A camouflaged, wide-body Corvette hovering over light snow.

Does this mean the E-Ray will get the rumored all-wheel drive? If you’re hoping to showcase the winter prowess of an all-wheel-drive Corvette, there’s no better way to do it. We’ll still have to wait to see the final car for any real answers, but the slew of new looks at the car this week seem to indicate a finished product is just around the corner.
