Alpina Releases B4 Gran Coupe Teaser Close To Its Global Debut

[ad_1]

Alpina teased the new model on her Facebook page. While it’s not explicitly mentioned, we do know that this is a B4 Gran Coupe, very much confirmed by the familiar taillight graphics.

The teaser doesn’t mention a launch date, but does have a caption that says “Empowered Elegance” and that the car is still born and made in Buchloe. It also comes with a link where you can subscribe to get the latest Alpina updates.

As for the car itself, the image reveals some of the stripes connected to the taillights while a spoiler lip has been added to the trunk.

Last year’s BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe was spied on testing but we all know it’s no ordinary four-door 4er. Alpina had started developing its practical coupe version by then, and we saw it again at the Nurburgring.

Back then, reports surfaced saying that Alpina would start building the supposed B4 Gran Coupe in March 2022 with a launch expected to occur in late 2021. But as circumstances dictate, it looks like the global reveal has been pushed further, with this teaser telling us that it will happen sooner rather than later.

The new Alpina B4 Gran Coupe is expected to get a B3 powertrain – a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six that produces 462 horsepower (344 kilowatts) and 516 pound-feet (700 Newton-meters) of torque. The eight-speed gearbox will most likely be tuned for faster gearshifts. In case you were wondering, the Alpina B4 Gran Coupe will stand as the M4 Gran Coupe which BMW will not build.

Meanwhile, BMW has officially absorbed Alpina into its business. In the announcement, BMW noted that the merger would allow the brand to remain in the market, amid increasing emission regulations and driver safety systems.
