White, black, and various boring shades remain the most popular paint colors for new cars. Jeep makes it difficult to choose one of these plain colors by offering its products in an increasing variety of bold color options in recent years. Joining the brand’s growing color palette is the Gobi tan, which Jeep will offer on the 2022 Wrangler and Gladiator.
Gobi is not a completely new color for the brand. Jeep offered it for the Gladiator’s first model year, and returned to trucks for 2022. However, this marks the first time Jeep has offered a coloration on the Wrangler, which will give customers more options when customizing the vehicle to their liking. .

“Customization is at the core of the Jeep Gladiator and the Jeep Wrangler,” said Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of the North American brand for Jeep. Gobi is Jeep’s fifth special edition color offered on the current generation Gladiator and Wrangler. The others are Tuscadero Pink, Gecko Green, Nacho Orange and Chief Blue.
Jeep says the new color is available to order now through June 2022, so if you want one, you’ll need to act fast. The company will offer new colors across both model lines, including the 4xe hybrid and the high-powered Wrangler 392. The upgraded Gobi paint carries an MSRP of $495, so adding it won’t break the bank, even if it costs $100 more. than Tuscadero Pink.
This new color is in addition to updates the brand is making to both models for the 2022 model year. Both the truck and SUV receive a 7.0-inch infotainment display as standard, an upgraded cabin air filter, and other adjustments. However, Jeep made no changes to their powertrain or trim levels. Prices start at $29,725 for the 2022 Wrangler while the Gladiator starts at $35,610 (price excludes $1,595 destination fee).
The gobi tan may not be as eye-catching as some of Jeep’s other special edition colors, but brown isn’t as common, and the color fits the brand’s off-road aesthetic.
