It’s not every day that you find a Porsche Carrera GT for sale. Built only a few years, only 1,270 were made and it is one of the most collected Porsches of all. This 2004 model is sold through duPont Registry technically 18 years old, but with 27 miles showing on the odometer, the showroom still looks fresh. And if you have a dime of $3.5 million, you can add it to your collection.
According to the listing, this Carrera GT is number 154 and like the picture below, it does look brand new. It wears a GT Silver Metallic coating on the outside, offset by Terracotta leather on the inside. After turning just 27 miles, the listing suggests it could be the lowest-mileage Carrera GT in the world. Ownership history is not stated, but the car is shown to be in Tampa, Florida.

That includes a raucous high-revving 5.7-liter V10 engine mounted behind the driver. Developing 605 horsepower (451 kilowatts), the naturally aspirated factory sends power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. Thanks to the heavy use of carbon fiber in the construction of the Carrera GT, the engine only has about 3,100 pounds to carry and as such, it is capable of sprinting to 60 mph in under four seconds. The top speed is 205 mph.
This combination of weight and power puts the Porsche Carrera GT in the top echelon of mid-2000s supercars, matching the performance of the Ferrari Enzo and Mercedes-McLaren SLR. It also offers a true analogue experience with a six-speed stick, compared to the paddle-shift gearbox for the Enzo and the five-speed automatic on the Merc.
As car enthusiasts, we always value special cars that are driven and used the way they were intended. However, we also have great admiration for time capsules like this Carrera GT that are carefully preserved and treasured as works of art.
