When it comes to the fastest cars in the world, Teslas will always be a part of that conversation. There’s the Model S Plaid, which blows people away with its actual numbers and tests, while its crossover counterpart, the Model X Plaid, sits around the ballpark with massive power output coming from three electric motors.
So much so that these Teslas have beaten supercars on the drag strip, like this example, courtesy of YouTube DragTimes. This is the Tesla Model X Plaid, a family crossover EV, versus the Lamborghini Huracan Evo, an Italian supercar.

On paper, this drag race at first glance does not match. The Tesla here sends 1,020 horsepower (761 kilowatts) to the ground with appropriate instant torque. Lamborghini, on the other hand, makes 630 hp (463 kW) from its 5.2 liter V10.
The two walk on all legs but their weight difference somehow compensates for the power weakness. The Huracan Evo, which benefits from the huge weight savings of its predecessor, is considerably lighter than the 5,333 pound (2,419 kilogram) Model X. This makes their power-to-weight ratio close to each other.
There were two races, both won by the Model X Plaid. It completed the quarter-mile sprint in under 10 seconds, which is a feat considering the battery was around 78 percent over the course of the race.
While we usually ignore race results in most of the drag races we feature here, we beg to be different on this point and let you know that the Model X Plaid completely destroyed the Huracan Evo. The question now is “how much?”
By the way, DragTimesThe next video drag race is between the Huracan Evo and the Porsche 911 Turbo S that the previous Model X Plaid beat. That’s a fairer fight, isn’t it?
