Ford’s plans to revive the Bronco extend beyond the SUV itself. Ford also launched a large range of aftermarket accessories for the off-roader, giving customers the ability to build their own Bronco. Ford offers roof awnings, pet harnesses, body armor, and more, but there’s also a vibrant aftermarket scene making products for SUVs, and the new one gives this model a menacing-looking grumper (grill + bumper).
This combo piece is popular in Jeep Wrangler, but this is the first Bronco we’ve seen with such an arrangement. The grumble for the Bronco comes from a designer at Four Extraordinary in the US, which makes a wide range of accessories for a variety of trucks and SUVs. The grille-and-bumper combination turns the Bronco’s box face into something a little more angular and harsh, like something set up for the apocalypse while also giving the Bronco’s face more utility.

According to the designer’s post on the Bronco6x Facebook group, the grumper can accommodate the extra lighting, winch and Bronco badge without losing functionality for adaptive cruise control or parking sensors. Grumpy relocated the front camera too. The Bronco grunt isn’t listed for sale on the Fab Fours website yet, but the company does list other aftermarket bumper and grille options.
The Ford Bronco hasn’t had a smooth launch yet, with the automaker stumbling to build an SUV and ship it. However, that didn’t slow the Blue Oval rhythm in introducing the new Bronco variant. In January, Ford revealed the Bronco Raptor with over 400 horsepower (294 kilowatts) and even more off-road stuff. Ford also unveiled the Bronco Everglades, which saw engineers relocate key vehicle components while adding a snorkel, 35-inch mud terrain tires, a 10,000-pound winch, heavy-duty bumpers, and more.
Ford designed the Bronco with the customer in mind, making it easy to remove the roof, doors and body panels. That level of versatility gives owners, aftermarket companies, and Ford itself more customization freedom. The Bronco grumble may not be to everyone’s taste, but it doesn’t have to be in a world with so many options available from Ford and elsewhere.
