BMW i4 Police Car By AC Schnitzer Is Germany Promoting Safe Tuning

When it comes to tuning cars for the police, AC Schnitzer is one of the most prominent names in Germany. That’s because the Aachen-based tuning company has done it eight times before, and the latest tune comes in the form of the BMW i4.

Based on the G26-generation BMW i4 M50 Gran Coupe, the all-electric i4 by AC Schnitzer is part of an initiative called Tune it! Safe! which promotes secure setup. A national campaign has been attracting attention for the last 17 years in Germany, to show what is possible in tuning while still complying with traffic permit regulations.

Much like the AC Schnitzer tuned BMW i4 presented in August, the BMW i4 police car concept comes with a corporate aerodynamics package. The package includes elements such as a front spoiler, front splitter, front side wing, rear roof spoiler, carbon rear spoiler and rear side wing. To complete the look, the EV also features an AC Schnitzer rear skirt protection film and a design package on the sides (two elements per side).

Of course, being a police car, the BMW i4 is equipped with a dedicated police signaling system by Hella, along with Foilatec and Securlux safety foil decorations on the side windows. The interior also features upgrades – all in a cool aluminum finish – to the pedals, footrests, “Black Line” covers for the i-Drive system controllers, and keyrings.

The BMW i4 by AC Schnitzer also comes with a lowering kit, which is about 20 to 25 mm lower than the standard car. To balance the sporty look, the electric Bimmer is also equipped with AC Schnitzer wheels – a set of 20-inch BiColor Silver/Black AC4 Flow Forming wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3 tires.

Needless to say, all the components used in Tune It! Safe! The BMW i4 Police by AC Schnitzer is tested to fit, passing all road regulations.
