Compass Jeep 2023 Gets 2.0 Liter Turbocharged Engine, Other Updates

Jeep has released an update to the Compass for the 2023 model year. The SUV is now powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine, along with a few updates. Drivetrain options have also been updated, which should be good news for those looking for toughness in a compact vehicle.

Offered for the first time on the Jeep Compass, the turbocharged 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder petrol engine packs up to 200 horsepower (149 kilowatts) and 221 pound-feet (271 Newton-meters) of torque. It is claimed to provide exceptional response and increased driving ability.

Additionally, the Jeep 4×4 Active Drive system is now standard across the range.

At any speed and without the need for any intervention by the driver at any speed, the Jeep Active Drive 4×4 system is fully automatic, providing seamless operation in and out of four-wheel drive mode. Meanwhile, the selected Compass Trailhawk model with the Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 system has a class-leading 20:1 crawl ratio.

The Jeep Active Drive and Active Drive Low 4×4 systems come with the Jeep Selec-Terrain system, which has up to four modes: Auto, Snow, and Sand/Mud, plus a Rock mode exclusive to Trailhawk models.

Also standard throughout the range are Jeep’s advanced safety features, such as drowsy driver detection, rear seat alert alert and security alarm. Latitude and above models receive automatic high beam headlamp control as standard.

Three unique look packages and a special edition are available for those who want to stand out. The special edition Kompas (RED) model received more exterior color options. Compass The Sport and Latitude models come standard with a new 17-inch wheel set.

The 2023 Jeep Compass is now available to order, available in five different 4×4 trim configurations: Sport, Latitude, Latitude LUX, Limited, and the rugged road-rated Trailhawk. It is slated to begin arriving in North American showrooms in the first quarter of 2023.
