In January, the Cadillac Society reported that a recent supplier constraint limited the availability of the Onyx package for the 2022 Cadillac Escalade. But now we know that that limit has now been lifted, and the dark accent pack is now once again available to order.
The Onyx package (production code PDB) is a dealer-installed package that adorns the Escalade with a range of dark exterior accents. This package includes the following features (relevant production code in brackets):
- Cadillac Monochrome (SFZ) Emblem
- Gloss Black Escalade (RIK) signage
- 22-inch Gloss Black finish rims with 12 bars (SSX)

The Onyx package can be outfitted on the Escalade model in Sport or Sport Platinum trim, and adds an additional $2,510 to the price tag of the full-size luxury SUV.
The January restriction isn’t the first time the package has gone unavailable, as the luxury marque has struggled with supplying certain 22-inch wheels in the past. Considering that the Onyx Package features a set of 22-inch gloss finish alloys, it is highly likely that wheel-related supply constraints affect the availability of the pack this time around.

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is the second model year of the fifth generation of luxury SUVs. It offers two engine options:
- Naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 engine (production code L87) capable of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque
- The 3.0L I6 turbodiesel (production code LM2) produces 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque
Models with petrol engines recently received an updated 10-speed automatic transmission, while units equipped with a diesel powerplant retain the same 10-speed automatic transmission as their 2021 counterparts.
