There are still a few months apart today, and the day Audi revealed the redesigned E-Tron and E-Tron Sportback crossovers. Rumors point to the automaker giving the pair a thorough mid-cycle redesign that goes a bit beyond the typical front and rear restyles, much like Audi could potentially rename it to the Q8 E-Tron. We’ll have to wait for Audi to confirm that, but until then, new spyshots show what some of the visual changes will look like when the new model debuts later this year.
The new shot shows a sleek crossover with a distinct camouflage pattern on the front, and close inspection reveals a few other differences. The grille is more similar to the one Audi introduced last year in the Q4 E-Tron. It appears to feature a closed design, which we’d expect in an electric vehicle, but the lid could be a cladding gimmick. The intake opening of the lower bumper is also tightly closed.

Our spy photographers haven’t captured the interior yet, but rumors suggest that Audi is delivering a major update too. The dashboard can feature a single display housing the infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster. Other areas that Audi is expected to improve are the powertrain, better battery fitting and electric motors, which should increase the range and efficiency of the model. We may have to wait until full disclosure to learn the specifics.
Audi has yet to announce a reveal date for the updated crossover. However, we expect Audi to introduce the redesigned E-Tron before the end of the year, with the model reaching European dealers in early 2023 before arriving in the US. The updated look, updated interior and upgraded powertrain should keep the E-Tron fresh as new competitors enter the segment. The E-Tron and E-Tron Sportback will get a significant next-generation redesign mid-decade, along with being officially renamed the Q8 E-Tron.
