Lexus Brings Track-Focused IS, LX, and GX Overlanders to SEMA

1 min read

Lexus arrived at the 2022 SEMA Show with six vehicles that demonstrated the possibility of modifying the brand’s products. Models run the gamut from track-focused machines to ground-ready SUVs.

The Lexus IS 600+ from DSPORT uses the current IS 350 F Sport and pushes output to over 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts), which is the explanation for the name of this model. To achieve this output, sedans run more thrust than turbos. Revised fuel and ignition curves make the most of adjustments. A Samsonas six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift replaces the standard gearbox.

The IS 600+ focuses on being a track car. It receives dual-adjustable KW coilovers and RC F carbon-ceramic brakes. The hood and trunk are now carbon fiber cut. This sedan uses a widebody kit from Artisan Spirits and uses 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels.

Inside, there’s a pair of Sparco racing seats, and the back seat is missing. The MoTeC Motorsports color display replaces the regular dashboard. Four-point rollcage protects the driver.

Lexus has two very different views on the LX 600 at SEMA. The Alpine Lifestyle Concept uses the Dissent Off-Road shelving system to transport extra gear, such as the Yeti GoBox, cooler and camp chairs. There’s also extra lighting from Rigid Industries. The truck has carbon fiber fender flares that cover 20-inch Vossen wheels with Bridgestone All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. Inside, the rear cargo area has the TrekBoxx Expedition System with room to carry more stuff.

The LX 600 Urban Concept is not for off-roading. Annex Marketing lowered the ride height and added an Artisan Spirits body kit with exposed carbon fiber elements. The HRE wheels have a Satin Bronze finish in the center and glossy black rims. The titanium exhaust pipe has a blue tinge.

The GX 460 Overland Concept from Cruiser Outfitters is another SUV for off-road adventures. It has an Old Man Emu suspension upgrade which improves ground clearance and wheel travel. The CBI front bumper includes room for the Warn winch and recovery points, in addition to increasing the vehicle’s approach angle. CBI skid plate and rock slider protect the underbody.

The roof rack holds the Yakima tent and other equipment. Opening the rear hatch reveals a set of Goose Gear drawers that house a Kaon shelf and a desk. The ARB refrigerator keeps food and drinks cold. There is also a stove for camping.
