There’s something exciting about seeing how vehicles differ in different markets around the world. While we usually see motorhomes from the United States, Europe, and even Japan, here’s a chance to see a Kia-based RV from South Korea.
The platform for this motorhome is the Kia Bongo 3. The engine is a 2.5-liter diesel producing 133 horsepower (99 kilowatts) and 216 pound-feet (293 Newton-meters) of torque. This vehicle measures approximately 256 inches (6.5 meters) in length. Inside, there is a sleeping area for five people.
The neat feature starts as soon as you open the door. There is a hidden place to store your shoes, and it has a heater to keep it warm and dry. The rest of the wood paneled floor is also heated.
After walking in the door, there is a U-shaped sitting area on the left. The table in the middle was lowered to make this place a bed. On top of the cab, there was another resting place, and this one had a net to keep the people up there from rolling around in their sleep.
The right side of the interior houses a small kitchen and bathroom. Amenities include a 5,297 cubic foot (150 liter) refrigerator, stainless steel sink, single burner induction hob and microwave. An interesting touch is that one of the cupboards opens onto a large storage area which can also be accessed from the outside of the RV.
The bathroom has a toilet that can be swiveled to provide more legroom. The entire space doubles as a shower, and there are drains on the floor.
At the very back, there was another bed. This room has windows on three sides, so the bed gets plenty of natural light.
Features that are accessible outside include a mountable awning and an outdoor shower. One of the panels along the sides opens to reveal the TV. There is also a large storage area that covers the entire width of the vehicle and is accessible from both sides.
This Kia camper is not available in the US. The host said that on direct conversion it would be around $78,000.
