Sales of Cadillac Mexico fell 14 percent to 96 units in September 2022 compared to September 2021.

During the first nine months of calendar year 2022, Cadillac Mexico sales increased seven percent to 1,032 units.

Cadillac Society Take
The new decline in Cadillac Mexico sales during September deepened the negative trend of luxury brands in the Latino country, representing a fourth straight month of sales in the red. However, the size of the decline was less noticeable compared to previous months, and the 96 shipments recorded in September showed a slight increase compared to the 88 units shipped in August.
The poor performance of Cadillac Mexico sales during September was the low availability of the brand’s most popular model, the Escalade, both in Mexico and in the larger North American market. The full-size luxury SUV, which has been Cadillac’s best-selling model in Mexico since the arrival of the current fifth-generation model, lost 22 units year over year during the month. However, the model still maintains healthy pent-up demand domestically due to low inventory levels at dealers.
Once again, the Cadillac XT4 is the brand’s only model to record an increase in sales, although the results show a lower-than-average number for the past few months. For its part, the Cadillac XT5 remained steady with just nine units sold in the Mexican market during the month.
For reasons unknown, neither the XT6 nor the two Cadillac luxury sedans – the CT4 or CT5 – are offered in Mexico.
