Mopar attended this year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas with two Ram truck concept vehicles. Both the 1500 TRX Gold Shot and 1500 Backcountry X show cars feature a range of performance parts and accessories from the company catalog designed to help customers with an active work-and-play-lifestyle.
Starting with a TRX-based concept, it has a greater focus on practicality for motocross enthusiasts thanks to a specially designed bed ladder for easy access. With just a gentle push, it is pulled into a stowed position, while a pair of rectangular LED lights in the tailgate just behind the cab provide 4,300 lumens of light for loading and unloading at sunset. In addition, the entire cargo area is equipped with a special Mopar spray textured bedliner to protect the surface.

Also for protection purposes, Hellcat-powered trucks have special metal skids on the front and rear that feature laser-engraved Mopar inscriptions. The front increases the angle of approach by 2.3 degrees. New stone rails provide further protection to the side sills. At the rear, two five-inch Mopar pipes complete the hardware upgrades that provide a louder sound than the 702-horsepower V8 engine under the hood.
The Ram 1500 Backcountry C concept, in turn, has been designed and built for owners “serious about combining work and play” and utilizes the RamBox cargo management system with specially designed features. The emphasis here is on the added security of storage space without compromising the functionality of the cargo area. Upgrades include RamPack storage compartments located above the RamBox on each side of the bed. This large storage space can be opened via a carbon fiber hatch panel.

The RamRack, in turn, is a telescope storage rack system, an evolution of a similar system featured with the Mopar Heads To SEMA With 6 Wild Concepts, the Vintage Jeep Ambulance concept during last year’s SEMA event. This new version uses Thule cross rails above the bed to attach fixtures and accessories. Additional LED lights are installed in each corner of the system.
