The Ram TRX was launched last year as one of the most capable trucks on the market. It is excellent for going off-road but also very comfortable on the pavement. Our Managing Editor Brandon Turkus summarizes that “you can actually drive the Ram TRX regularly without worrying about hearing loss or back problems.” However, all that extraordinary performance comes at a price.
The Ram now displays the starting price for the 2022 TRX at its official website and we have to report it’s getting more and more expensive for the new model year, similar to what happened with the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. In fact, this is a very significant increase in the base price – $76,880 MSRP with no goal versus $70,425 in 2021. That’s a huge jump in the $6,455 starting price. It’s also important to note that the goal cost is $100 more for the 2022 model year.
When it arrived at Ram dealers early last year, the TRX was initially available for $69,995. Then during the 2021 model year, the manufacturer raised that price by $430. The last time we played with an online truck configurator, we managed to build a $100,835 example, making it the most expensive manufactured half ton truck on the market.

MoparInsiders also reports the 2022 TRX will be much more expensive in Canada as well. For the new year model, the performance truck’s starting price is $105,485 including destination costs versus $100,760 including last year’s destination costs.
As a final note, the official Ram website also shows the regular 1500 has a new starting price for 2022. You’d have to spend at least $35,900 (without a goal) on a truck that will cost you $32,795 over the 2021 model year.
