The Galaxy S22 is the latest smartphone from Samsung, and a strong wish for many. This is the company’s flagship phone, lining up against Apple’s iPhone 13. Before you start wondering if we changed our name from Motor1 to Smartphone1, there is an important automotive connection here. And it came with a Mercedes-Benz. Presumably, however.

A few days ago an interesting photo appeared on Twitter. It was shared by @GaryeonHan and shows all kinds of gear emblazoned with the Mercedes-Benz logo. The translation of the tweet labels the image as Galaxy S22 Ultra Mercedes EQ Edition.

At this point, not much information is available regarding this Merc-infused phone. Nothing official; searching the internet we came across reports from GSMArena reference two special edition kits for the S22. One of them is called the Mark & Lona edition but obviously our attention turns to the Mercedes edition. The phone will apparently come in a special box with a custom phone case, key ring, card holder, and other accessories we can’t identify. Naturally, three-pointed stars are everywhere, and the faded pattern on some items resembles the grid seen on electric EQ models.

Motor1.com contacted Mercedes-Benz for details, but we have not received a response. As such, there’s no word on pricing or availability yet – the tweet appears to be from a South Korean account and there’s been some speculation that this offer might be region-specific. There’s also no word on how deep this potential partnership goes or whether it will result in additional Mercedes swag in the future.

Mercedes-Benz is certainly no stranger to interesting items that are definitely not automotive. We have seen the Cigarette offshore motorboat with the Mercedes-AMG branding. Of course there is a special Mercedes trunk and a watch with the AMG badge. We recently came across an interesting collaboration with a custom shoe designer who created silver Air Jordan sneakers with a prominent Mercedes logo.
