The updated Telluride was first spotted in July 2021 when Kia’s facelifted SUV prototype was spotted sporting heavy camouflage. There hasn’t been any news about the popular family carrier since then, except for a trademark filing which suggests a rugged X-Pro trim is possible. Thankfully, our spies currently based in northern Sweden have just spotted a test vehicle which revealed some details.
The most noticeable changes occur at the front where the headlights have new LED daytime running lights. As a result, the turn signal has also been changed and this new look improves the vertical layout of the lighting cluster. Gone are the rectangular DRLs of the current Telluride, replaced by two parallel strips of light, above which Kia has mounted the main beam.

Peeking through the mesh camo up front is a redesigned grille with the familiar honeycomb pattern, but arranged vertically instead of horizontally as is the case with the 2022 Telluride. The latter already sports Kia’s updated corporate badge, which remains hidden here. in the middle of the grid. Tweaks to the bumper are also coming, but nothing to write home about.
Being just a mid-cycle facelift, we don’t expect any changes to the side profile, although some new wheels could arrive for the 2023MY. On the back, a bold disguise is put in place to notice if anything has changed. The taillights seem to carry over, but that could change for the production version. The dual exhaust tips look nearly identical, while the bumpers are barely visible.
Our spies couldn’t peek inside the cabin, but we did notice something rather interesting in one of the shots. The adjacent left image has been enlarged as we get the impression that the dashboard has been redesigned. We’re not entirely sure, but it looks like Kia will set the screen side by side in the same vein as on the smaller Sportage.
The tablet-like infotainment seems to be missing as the touchscreen seems to be on the same level as the driver’s display. The latter may be completely digital, which isn’t surprising since analog dials are gradually becoming a thing of the past. The Telluride 2022 looks a bit outdated with a physical tachometer and speedometer flanking a relatively small digital display.
Expect the Kia Telluride 2023 to launch later this year when it comes to filling in some of the big shoes as the midsize SUV is currently a huge commercial success for the South Korean brand. Its sister model, the Hyundai Palisade, will also be released before the end of the year.
