This new spy photo gallery shows that a new variant of the Porsche Taycan is on the way. Judging by the visible styling, this might be a sporty GT version of the electric sedan.
This Taycan has a splitter under the nostril. The black band hides the wider elements on each outer edge. There seems to be a canard under the headlights. A large sensor is on the roof above the windshield.
From the side, you can see this vehicle has a prominent roll cage and racing seats in the cabin. Porsche often installs these safety components on vehicles during testing but removes them for production versions.
This Taycan rides on a set of wheels with a complex design that has five spokes with cutouts inside. There is a mix of dark and machined finishes. Big yellow calipers indicate this car has carbon-ceramic brakes
At the rear, Porsche added a fixed wing to the tail, and there’s a small decklid spoiler. These parts make this Taycan appear more aggressive. Under the bumper, there are vanes for the diffuser on each side.
Modifications suggest this is a more violent Taycan, but its exact identity remains a mystery. While there are many EV variants already available, Porsche is yet to offer a full GT variant.
In August, the Taycan Turbo S set a new lap record for EVs around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. It rounded off a configuration of 20.8 kilometers (12.9 miles) in 7 minutes and 33.3 seconds. This is enough to take the crown from the Tesla Model S with a time of 7:35.
Porsche has been gradually upgrading the Taycan. Software updates for 2020 to 2022 models and standards in 2023 offers a significant increase in reach. For example, the EPA estimate for the Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo increased to 233 miles from the previous 204 miles.
