Heated, Ventilated Seat Retrofits Underway For 2022, 2023 Cadillac CT5

Due to the ongoing global shortage of microchips, the availability of heated seats is limited on many Cadillac vehicles, including the 2022 and 2023 Cadillac CT5 luxury sedan units. However, the luxury brand indicated that the feature will be reinstalled on vehicles that do not have it once supply is permitted. Now, Cadillac Society have learned that owners of affected CT5 or CT5-V units built without heated or ventilated seats are now eligible to have the feature refitted.

The retrofit procedure will be carried out at no cost to the vehicle owner. Dealers were instructed to replace the front seat heater control module, reprogram the body control module, and for some vehicles, reprogram the HVAC control module. Some vehicles may require additional retrofitting of the left and right front seat cushion ventilation blowers to restore the functionality of the ventilated seat feature.

It is important to understand that the above-mentioned procedures do not address the constraints of the front driver and passenger ventilated seat cushion blower motors, which will be discussed in a separate customer satisfaction bulletin in the future. All Cadillac CT5 or CT5-V 2023 units assembled between 18 Julyth and September 4th built without this feature.

Riding the platform of the luxury Alpha 2 marque, the Cadillac CT5 2023 offers three petrol engine options. The 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY), with 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, is standard on the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels. Models with this engine are identified by the 350T badge on the decklid. The twin-turbo 3.0L V6 (production code LGY) is optional on the CT5 Premium Luxury, which produces 335 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Models with this engine are denoted by the 550T badge. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all models, while all-wheel drive is optional at an additional cost.

The Cadillac CT5-V, meanwhile, draws power from a turbocharged 3.0L V6 petrol engine (production code LGY) with 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Its availability for the 2023 model year will be very limited.
