The new Suzuki Swift is coming; well not in the US where Japanese companies only sell outboard engines and motorcycles. But for the rest of the world, the YED Swift is on its way. And based on the first photos taken by our spies, Suzuki is already testing the five-door hatchback. With this in mind, we could see the next generation model sooner rather than later.

To give us an idea of what the next Suzuki Swift will look like, we’re trying to uncover a hideout on the prototype we caught last time through this unofficial rendering.

If the production version is going to follow this envisioned model, the fourth-generation Swift looks very neat and sporty. The interlocked grille with a two-tone finish might remind you of other brands, but it somewhat fits the angular fascia theme.

Speaking of fascia, the upcoming Swift may have a bigger face than the previous model, which should work as it will compensate for the huge headlight set.

The straight lines on the sides continue the angular look from the front, while the dark roof is reminiscent of the current Swift and the two-tone theme it offers in some countries. The swoopy roofline seen on the spy prototype is not visible with the black roof.

The next-generation Suzuki Swift is believed to be driving a modified version of the Heartect platform. Changes were implemented to comply with more modern safety standards. Powertrain options remain a mystery, though we wouldn’t be surprised if Suzuki would offer the Swift a 1.4-liter turbocharged mild hybrid setup. A full hybrid model is also possible, given Suzuki’s collaboration with Toyota in terms of technology.

The new Suzuki Swift could debut in 2023 for the 2024 model year. We’ll know in the months to come exactly when, and you’ll be sure to read about it from here.
