Diesel, prices skyrocketed: that’s what’s happening

The price of diesel is increasing day by day, just like that of petrol which at the moment however remains below.

The truce of the past weeks has already passed, the price of fuel resumed its upward climb, just as diesel did too.

The cost of diesel is once again close to € 2, probably more than that it will not be able to go because for this month we are still taking advantage of the cut in excise duties established by the Government.

The question, however, is the following: after that, what will happen? Many give up traveling with their own vehicle, preferring public transport. Then there are those who, when possible, prefer to walk on foot, saving something in the small.

That’s why the cost of diesel has skyrocketed

What no one is able to accept today is the fact that over the years diesel has always been the favorite of motorists because it has always cost less than petrol. Now everything has changed practically from nothing even if the reasons are there. And so the major companies in recent days have begun to adjust prices, reporting increases of at least € 0.04 per liter.

The first reason has to do with the war between Russia and Ukraine. The tensions do not spare the increase in fuels, for example the price of crude oil increases because it is linked to the sanctions against Russia and therefore Moscow. The second reason instead has to do with the decision taken by the exporting countries which have cut oil production by two million barrels a day.

The cost of petrol, diesel and LPG per liter self service

The ban on Russian oil will start on December 5th, while imports will stop on February 5th. All this will be a big problem for Europe, which has always supplied itself from Moscow. Then, something much more serious will happen and worrying about the increase in prices.

With the approach of this date, diesel prices have practically gone to increase more and more and who knows where they will arrive. For the moment, the average price of petrol is 1,690 euros per liter. The brands are slightly detached. There are some brands that sell gasoline at € 1,661 per liter and others that sell it for € 1.708. While for diesel, always self-service mode, the cost is € 1,836 per liter. There are some supplies that sell it for € 1,823 per liter and € 1,856. Finally there is the LPG which oscillates between 0.788 and 0.807 € per liter.
