Dodge Dart Refuses To Die, Three New Models Sold In Q3 2022

It’s been a while since Dodge stopped making Darts. In 2016 the American automaker discontinued production of the Dart, but it appears that several units of the compact sedan were still being sold during the last three months of the year.

In the US FCA Q3 2022 sales report, three Dodge Darts were delivered to their rightful owners. This means that these units have been available for six years before being shipped to their new owners. The same sales report saw the Fiat 124 Spider, 500, and 500L get new owners despite dropping out of the US market a few years ago.

The number of Dodge Darts sold in Q3 2022 mirrors the same number sold in Q3 2021. This year’s figures reveal that Dodge has shipped four Dodge Darts so far – slightly down from the five units sold from January to September 2021.

The Dart nameplate has been around since the ’60s, with the original model discontinued in 1976. Under FCA, Dodge revived the nameplate in 2012 as a front-wheel-drive compact sedan that shared a platform with Fiat models. The Dart line got an ax in 2016 for its poor sales.

Meanwhile, Dodge also moved five Caravans in Q3 2022 – down from 89 units sold in the same period last year. The company has sold 26 Caravans so far this year, and that’s despite being discontinued in 2020. For the record, no Dodge Viper was sold from July to September 2022 – another discontinued model that refuses to die.

Overall, the FCA brand consisting of Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat and Alfa Romeo – now all under the Stellantis brand – sold 1,199,407 units from January to September 2022. This is down 12 percent over the same period. last year.
