If you’re looking to buy the fastest four-door sedan today, you’re more likely to be buying an electric vehicle – specifically the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, Lucid Air, and the latest Tesla Model S Plaid. These three EVs are at the top of the food chain, so much so that they can even match some, if not most, internal combustion engine-powered two-door supercars out there. But which of the three is the fastest?
DragTimes had arranged a tug-of-war between the three to answer that question. Some of you may already know the answer based on the lineup alone, but here’s the video.

But before you watch the races, let’s count the numbers first. The Lucid Air here is the Performance Dream Edition, which makes 1,111 horsepower (817 kilowatts) from its two electric motors. It runs on all four wheels, is wrapped in Pirelli PZero HL tires and weighs a total of 5,236 pounds (2,420 kilograms).
The Porsche Taycan Turbo S weighs about the same as the Lucid Air, although it’s a little less power. only 750 hp (552 kW) from two electric motors. The Porsche is much more expensive, though, almost $50,000 more than the Lucid.
But the star of the show is it’s cheaper and lighter than the aforementioned EV. The Tesla Model S Plaid produces 1,020 hp (750 kW) for the three electric motors and their weight only 4,833 lbs (2,215 kg). It uses a set of Michelin Pilot 4S tires. It’s also nearly $50,000 more affordable than the Lucid Air.
With all these numbers, you probably know which one wins the straight line race. But you can watch the video at the top of this page to see if the winner takes all three rounds.
