Rimac Nevera Gets Mobile Treatment In Jay Leno’s Garage

After several years of development and one name change, the Rimac Nevera production is finally here. Rimac’s latest electric hypercar is one of the most powerful of its kind, born out of wedlock between Bugatti and Rimac, now known as Bugatti-Rimac.

And while we’ve shared our thoughts on the new Rimac Nevera — especially the fact that it’s the fastest car we’ve ever driven — it’s time to pay a visit to Jay Leno Leno. In the latest episode of the car-centric show, Nevera is in the spotlight alongside Bugatti-Rimac test and development engineer Miroslav Zrncevic.

Among the first facts we got from the show was that Nevera was in development for five years. Zrncevic was there from day one so if you’re looking for someone who has spent more time in Nevera than anyone else in the world, he’s the one. He is a man who knows cars inside and out.

Zrncevic also said that about $1.6 million was spent on developing the hypercar. Formerly known as the C_Two concept, 17 cars were used during Nevera’s five years of development – 14 of which were featured in the previous video.

Nevera is also equipped with four electric motors or one for each wheel. As Zrncevic explains, these settings allow Rimac to control each one as needed and make the car safer to drive even for novice drivers. With 1,914 horsepower (1,427 kilowatts) and 1,741 pound-feet (2,360 Newton-meters) of torque on tap, anyone needs all the help they can get to control this monster machine.

There’s a lot of other interesting information about Nevera that Zrncevic explains in the video above, so better watch it all if it interests you.
