A video shot in the MotoGP paddock is going viral: a mechanic attacks a rider on his return to the garage.

For several hours, a video shot in the MotoGP paddock has been circulating on the web and is arousing a hive of controversy and discontent. The short video dates back to the 2019 Thailand GP, it is perhaps no coincidence that it has only been released now that the paddock is stationed at the Chang International Circuit. The protagonist of the very unpleasant and gruesome episode is Tom Booth-amosBritish rider who three years ago competed in the ranks of the CIP Green Power, a team still present in the World Championship today.
The images show the young driver returning to the pits after retiring due to a mechanical problem with his KTM. We hear Booth-amos who, as he returns to the garage, states that his bike “no good, it’s so fucking simple“. The mechanic who accompanies him inside the garage loses his nerves and kicks him twice in the ass and trims a few blows on the head of the driver, who is still wearing the helmet. At this point the video stops, now the team should speak with an official note, or at least hopefully, that should clarify.

This is an episode dating back to three years ago and which has only been released on social media since Steve Brogan, former British Superbike champion and currently director of the Steve Brogan Superbike School, who has decided to disclose the video on social media that is going viral. Tom Booth-amos, who today no longer has any contractual relationship with the CIP Green Power team, offers an initial explanation on his Twitter profile, stressing that he has never been able to file a complaint because the team asked him to “never talk about it”.
The rider who currently races in Supersport with the Prodina Racing Team says: “IThe video that is circulating was recorded during the 2019 Thailand GP. That year there were a lot of problems with the team that I never talked about. I preferred to be silent just to try to keep my place in 2020, because my dream was to continue in that paddock … It’s just one of the things that happened to me that year, people don’t know what’s going on behind the TV screen“.
Meanwhile, the first illustrious comments on the story arrive on the social networks, to say the least humiliating. “You can’t forgive that kind of behavior – said the six-time world champion Jonathan Rea -. It pisses me off to see these things, especially since the team moved on“. Loris Baz he hopes that mechanic will be expelled from the paddock.
